The Pantiles

£49.00£99.00

The Pantiles in Royal Tunbridge Wells was, and still is, the place to be! During the reign of Elizabeth 1st, the practice of taking these natural waters for health purposes became more popular among the nobility. A chance discovery in 1606 of a Spring (now called The Chalybeate) with distinctive reddish tinted mineral deposits led to the development of The Pantiles, and later on, Royal Tunbridge Wells.

It is now a hub of restaurants, shops, art galleries and open air cafes, including a fortnightly Farmers and Craft Market. Also in the summer months Jazz nights take place on Thursdays on the bandstand. If you look at my News page, you will see the dates I will be displaying my work (including of course, this painting).
