Skinners School, Tunbridge Wells

£49.00£99.00

Founded in 1887 by the Worshipful Company of Skinners, this school stands near the centre of Tunbridge Wells.

It was the first City Livery Company school I painted (see also Adams).

The long frontage of this impressive building forced me across the road to the dairy where I had to take my photographs balanced on top of a wobbly ladder to prevent the front wall from hiding the building. Still, the rain brightened the colours. But I was very satisfied with the end result and especially my decision to show extra views as vignettes – a first for me.
